Rob Connor
With influences rooted in classical piano music, a less-is-more minimalism, ambient-style texture and compelling melodies with a touch of folk music, Rob Connor’s compositions are bold and exploratory. Beginning piano lessons aged 8 near his family home on the remote wilds of the west coast of Scotland, his career in music has taken several forms, most notably as a classical pianist and performer, and also as a film composer. In the 2020’s Rob’s journey came full-circle and has finally and firmly settled at the piano where his unique compositional style has taken shape, and come to fruition in the form of 2 distinct bodies of work: his debut album for solo grand piano, ‘Glimmers’ (2023), and most recently a brand new recording of intimate pieces recorded exclusively on felt piano (late 2024).
