DeLange

DeLange (1972) is a Dutch neo-romantic composer and pianist. As someone who experiences music in colors and shapes (a condition called chromesthesia, or sound-to-color synesthesia), he approaches every composition like a painting. With his latest release Pavanelle (Étude No. 6), DeLange introduces a new series of lyrical piano études with a distinct melancholic tone. Several of these poetic studies will be featured during his upcoming Dutch piano solo theater tour.
Recently, his piece Tristesse was voted into the Classical Top-400 by Dutch national radio NPO Klassiek.
Born and raised in a musical family, Frank DeLange grew up surrounded by the great piano composers of the Romantic and early modern eras. His parents filled the house with recordings of the masters, which opened the door to the world of Romanticism for him. After completing his classical training at the conservatory, DeLange worked as a pianist, writing for and accompanying other artists.
